= <div class="center">How to use Luminys cameras with Control4</div> =

===Description===
This tutorial will go over how to use Luminys cameras with Control4 software.

===Prerequisites===
* Control4 Software
* Control4 Luminys Driver from – (https://chowmain.software/drivers/control4-luminys-ip-cameras)
* Events need to be configured and working camera side before setting up the driver in Control4.
* If your cameras are plugged into the back of an NVR, you will need to put the NVR in '''bridge mode''' so the cameras 
* Will not work with '''N3T-5KA2''' kit camera

===Step by Step Instructions===

1.	Today we will be going over how to use Luminys cameras with Control4. If your cameras are on the network and not plugged into the recorder POE ports, then you can move onto step 4, if the cameras are plugged into the back of the recorder the first step to get this working will be to put the NVR into bridge mode so the cameras can be accessed directly.

2.	To put the NVR into bridge mode the first thing you will want to do is log into the NVR interface either through the WebUI or Local Monitor. Once logged in we will want to go to the camera option at the top, then we will select POE from the options on the left. Once in the POE Menu we will be putting the radial dot in the Bridge Mode option.

3.	You will notice that when you move the dot into the bridge option, you will get a pop up with a warning that if you enable bridge mode POE plug and play will be disabled. What this means is if you add more cameras into the NVR by plugging them into the back of the NVR, the NVR will no longer automatically activate the camera, and it will also not auto add. So once this function is turned on, going forward you will need to manually activate the camera and then you will need to go into the camera menu and add the camera yourself. Go ahead and click ok on the pop up and then click apply to save. The NVR will indicate it needs to reboot to complete this step so go ahead and let it do that.

4.	Now that the NVR is in bridge mode, or your cameras are already on network, we will move onto the control4 side of things. The first thing you will need is to have Control4 Composer installed on your computer. The next thing you will need is the IP Camera Luminys Driver for Control4 which can be found here. (https://chowmain.software/drivers/control4-luminys-ip-cameras)

5.	The next thing you will need to do is add this driver into Control4. 
 a.	Open Composer, click on System Design and then Search.
 b.	In the search, do a search for Luminys
 c.	Double click on the listing to add it into your project.
 d.	Click on the driver in the System Tree on the left to view its properties.

6.	Next we will configure the driver properties.
 a.	Enter the Hostname / IP Address of your Luminys IP Camera
 b.	Enter the port number as required. The default Port for Luminys is 80.
 c.	Enter the username and password for the Luminys IP Camera.
 d.	Included below is a table from the developer giving the descriptions of the various properties and their functions.
 e.	Click on the actions tab and click configure driver.

===Bindings on the Connections tab===

1.	Next we will go over how to configure events. As mentioned in the requirements, it is critical that you have the events you want first set up on the camera and confirmed those are working before moving on. The camera driver contains bindings for each Event, once the camera driver receives a trigger from the camera.

2.	Next we will go over how to add the motion sensor driver, the example in this situation is using the “CROSSLINEDETECTION” so you would want to be using a line crossing VCA rule on the camera. Start by doing a search for Motion in My Drivers and add it to your project.

3.	Give the sensor a name like Driveway Line Crossing.

4.	Select Connections

5.	Select your camera from the Tree on the left.

6.	Make the binding between the Driveway contact sensor and the camera’s LINE_CROSSING

7.	Now when the camera detects line crossing motion, the sensor will trigger in Control4 and fire any actions you have set up for it.
