==Description==
This article will cover how to search for human targets using LumiSearch via LumiViewer software using attributes.

==Prerequisites==
* LumiViewer installed on a computer
* LumiSearch+ capable cameras and NVR

===Step by Step Instructions===
1. Today we will be going over how to use the attribute query function within the Human Body Search in LumiViewer. To start off you will want to make sure you have everything set up on the hardware side. Let’s log into the NVR and make sure everything is correct. The first step once logged into the NVR is to go to the camera section, then on the left expand the AI event and choose intelligent mode. Once in intelligent mode we will make sure the Recorder is set up for LumiSearch, so click on Recorder AI mode and make sure LumiSearch mode is enabled. (This is only required on the R5, the R6 does not have a toggle for this as it is on by default.)

2. Once the recorder AI mode is set up, we will move onto the cameras and make sure they are correct. Now since you are already in intelligent mode, the next step is to just click on the camera AI mode option. Now choose the channel you want to set it up for, in this case for us it is channel 1. Make sure you have LumiSearch enabled, if not, enable it and save the settings.

3. Since we are working with LumiSearch+ cameras for this functionality, we also need to make sure the metadata setting is turned on as that is where the attribute data will be coming from. From the camera menu, go to the AI Event settings again and then you will see a Metadata setting option, click on that. Once on the metadata setting page choose the camera channel you want to enable it on. There isn’t much on this page, all you need to do is click on the (+) button on the box to the left, when you click it once it will add human metadata and if you click it a second time it will add motor vehicle metadata. If you need both add both otherwise just add the one you need. Make sure to save when done.

4. Next we will move onto LumiViewer. For the sake of this guide we will assume you have added the NVR into LumiViewer already. The first thing you want to do when going into LumiViewer is to select the Event Config option.

5. Once in the event config page, you will want to expand the NVR where your LumiSearch+ cameras are and then select the camera you want to be able to do an attribute search on. Once you have the camera selected you will see a list of events to choose from to the right, the event type we need to select is Human Detection. Once you select Human Detection, all we need to do is enable the function using the toggle along the top as displayed in the image below. You will want to do this for all of the cameras you want this to work on. Make sure you save after you have set this up.

6. Now that we have everything set up we are ready to search. Important note though, since this is freshly set up, you will need to give the system time to start collecting data on people walking in front of the cameras, so don’t be surprised if you try and search immediately and you get no results. To start searching, go to the home page of LumiViewer, once on the home page we will select the Data Retrieval option.

7. Once in the data retrieval section, on the left side we will choose the Human Body Search option. You will now have your search options, the first option you will choose will be the date/time you want to search, then for query type you want to click the drop down and change it to Attribute, then in the device section, choose the cameras you want to use to search. The last set of search options will be your different attributes so you can set what you want to search for and click search.

[[File:LV LumiSearch attribute7.jpg|1000px]]

8. After clicking search you will get results for the attributes you have selected for the search. In the case of our search I set Gender as Male, Upper Garment Color Gray and Lower Garment is shorts. Once you have your results you can play them back or export them if you want to save the results.
