Step by Step Instructions
Today we will learn how to use and enable the LumiLuxSmart function which is available in select IP cameras from Luminys. To start off we will want to log into the WebUI of the camera.
Once in the WebUI, you will want to go to settings along the top, then we will expand the image section on the left and then select the Display Settings option.
Once in the display settings, you will want to scroll down using the right scroll bar until you see “Illumination Light”. If you click the drop down you will see 3 options. First is White light mode, if this is selected, the camera will enable the white light when it is dark and the white light will stay on until it is light to produce a color image. IR mode will use only the IR over night so it will produce a black and white image and the white light will never come on. Lastly the setting we will use in this case is LumiLuxSmart, this will intelligently activate the light when it detects a human in the frame. If no one is in the frame, the camera will go into IR mode, and then will activate the light to display color when it detects a human.
There are 2 other settings in here that impact the white light, the next would be “Illuminator delay” this would be how long the light would stay on after the event occurs, then the Brightness upper limit would determine how bright the white light gets. After making your setting changes, click apply to save.
Next we either need to set up IMD or VCA to the camera can be aware to watch for “human targets”. For this document we will set up IMD. To do this, on the left expand the event section and then click on general settings.
Once in general settings, you will want to make sure you are on the “Motion Detection” tab along the top. Once in motion detection, you will want to enable the motion detection, you will also want to enable “IMD” which adds the intelligence to the motion detection so it can detect a target and then you also need to make sure you have Human, Motor Vehicle or both enabled in the target section. Once you have chosen your settings, click apply to save.
Next let’s go to the live view to see what happens. At first the camera will be displaying in black and white as it will be using the IR when nothing is in the frame.
8. As a human walks in front of the camera, the camera will detect the human and it will enable the white light so you can capture a full color image of the target. This concludes how to use LumiLuxSmart.
