Adding IP Cameras to NVR

Description

This tutorial will go over how to add cameras to a Luminys NVR via RTSP.

Prerequisites

  • Luminys NVR
  • RTSP URL for the device being added (for Luminys devices, see here)

Step by Step Instructions

1. From the recorders main menu, select the Camera tab at the top.

2. From Camera Registration, select the Manual Add button. In the window that opens, select the channel you want to add to, and set the Protocol to Custom.

3. Enter the RTSP URL for the main stream. You can also set a sub stream, if desired. If your RTSP URL does not included the username and password, you will need to enter it in the Username and Password field here. Click OK when finished.

4. You will now see the camera channel. If all the settings are correct it will show online. Now you can load your live feeds and it will begin recording. Of note, the RTSP port value of the channel will always show 80 in the Camera Registration. If a port value is not defined in the URL, it will use 80. If you specify the port value in the URL, it will use the specified port despite showing 80 in the channel list.
