Set Up LumiCloud Alerts

Description

This guide will cover how to set up Alerts in LumiCloud. At this time, LumiCloud Alerts can only be set up via the LumiCloud website. Once they are set up you can receive notifications via the LumiCloud App on iOS or Android devices as well as on the web.

Prerequisites

  • LumiCloud account logged in to https://webapp.lumicloud.com
  • Device with licensed video channels
  • Events (iMD, VCA, etc.) set up with Snapshot/Picture Storage enabled.

Instructions

1. Start by logging in to you LumiCloud account, and selecting Alerts from the list on the left.

2. From the Alerts section, click on Alerts Settings in the bottom right.

3. Start by giving your Alert a name to easily identify it, and then select the devices you wish for the rule to apply to.

4. Select the type of event(s) you want to receive alerts for.

5. The Effective Time is the time period for which you will receive alerts. This time frame applies to both mobile and web alerts, and can be customized as you see here, or set to "Every day:All Day" for 24/7 coverage. In this example, the rule will provide notifications all day on weekends, but only from 8pm-6am during the week (0:00>06:00 + 20:00>24:00).

6. Push Mailing is not required, unless you wish to also receive email alerts for the rule. Simply enter the email address for the person(s) you want to notify of the alerts.

7. Select which users will receive the alerts. You can select All User, None, or any combination of individual users. After you have specified which users will get the alerts, click Confirm.

8. A confirmation window will appear, click Confirm again to finish creating the Alert rule.

9. Here we can see the Alert rule we created and some of it parameters. You can disable the alert here, edit the rule, or delete it entirely. Click the X button in the top right to close the Alert Settings.

10. At this point, you have finished creating the Alert. When an event occurs that matches the parameters of your Alert rule, you will now see a notification in the bottom right corner of the LumiCloud website.

11. You can also see a list of Alerts in the Alerts section. Under each Alert there are 3 options. The envelope button will mark the Alert as read, and remove it from the Alert list. The Playback button will play the event clip. The Live button will take you to the live view for the camera that triggered the event.

12. You will also receive email alerts as shown here (if you entered an email address in the Push Mailing List). Clicking on Check Now will take you to the LumiCloud website Alerts page to review the alert.

13. Any user that has the LumiCloud mobile app installed, and is signed in to one of the defined accounts, will also receive Alert notifications when an event occurs.

14. In the app, you will also have the same options as online in regards to marking alerts as read, playing the event clips, and a shortcut to the live view for the camera.
