Upgrading NVR Firmware via WebGUI
Description
This article will cover how to upgrade firmware on an NVR via the WebGUI
Prerequisites
- Luminys NVR
- A Computer on the Same Network as the NVR
Step by Step Instructions
1. Log into the web inteface of the NVR.
Click on System at the top.
Then expand System Info on the left.
Select Device Info under that.
Verify the Version Info tab is selected at the top.
Note the NVR's Model Number next to Device Model.
Note the NVR's Build Date next to Firmware Version
2. Navigate to the NVR Firmware page on the Luminys Wiki: HERE
Find your NVR's Model Number in the Models column on the left.
Verify the corresponding Build Date, in the Firmware column, is newer than the NVR's current Build Date noted in the previous step.
Click on the Download icon for that firmware to download the latest firmware file
3. Go back to the web inteface of the NVR.
Click on System at the top.
Then expand System Maintain on the left.
Select Upgrade under that.
Click on the Browse button under File Path in the File Upgrade section of the page
4. Navigate through your computer's file system until you find the firmware file you downloaded in Step 2 above and select it.
Verify that the file name matches in the File Path field.
Then click on Upgrade
5. Wait as the NVR is upgraded.
Make sure your computer does not lose network connection and the NVR does not lose power during this process.
The progress bar will increase as the process progresses
6. When the upgrade process completes successfully it will show 100% next to the progress bar.
It will then show Restarting and the NVR will reboot.
7. After the NVR is done rebooting, log back into the web interface.
Click on System at the top.
Then expand System Info on the left.
Select Device Info under that.
Select the Version Info tab at the top.
Verify the NVR's Build Date, next to Firmware Version, matches the Build Date of the latest firmware that you downloaded.
The NVR's firmware is now up to date
