Description

This tutorial will cover how to apply licenses for LumiCenter.

Prerequisites

  • Either a license key file or serial number of the license key provided by Sales Rep.

Step by Step Instructions

1. When the client first launches, a pop-up window will indicate that demo mode is active. Demo mode is valid for 30 days from the date of installation and operates daily between 8 AM and 6 PM.

2. If a license has not been purchased yet, it is still possible to log in via demo mode by clicking "Continue." If a license has been purchased, click "Launch activation utility" to activate the license.

Activation

4. After user authentication, two options will appear: Activate and Advanced mode.

Under Activate, there will be four options:

5. Load license file: This option allows either dragging and dropping the license file into the white square box (UAC must be disabled) or using the "Browse" button to locate the license file on the computer.

6. Enter serial number: In this option, the serial number will be provided by a Luminys representative.

7. Activate free version of the system: This option allows moving away from demo mode, removing time restrictions on the server. However, the free version is limited to 1 server and 4 video channels.

8. If the license file or serial number has already been used or there is an issue, an error message will be displayed, as shown in the screenshot below.

9. Create an activation request: This option allows creating the request file through three methods. The simplest method is the first method that generates an encrypted text file.

10. Under Advanced Mode, there are two options: Change domain name and Exclude from domain.

11. Change domain name: This option allows entering a custom domain name or using the same name as another LumiCenter server.

12. Once the domain name is changed, it will be displayed in the screenshot below after logging in. The domain can also be changed again later, where it shows in the red highlighted red square box.

13. Exclude from domain: Exclude server from domain to allow adding to another domain.

14. Warning: Excluding from the domain will remove all settings configured on the server, so be sure to carefully read the pop-up window before proceeding!

Deactivation

15. The Deactivate option is available only after a license has been applied or when using the free version.

16. Before removing the license, LumiCenter will prompt to save the license file (license.key). Using the first option, the license file can be saved to the computer, for example, on the desktop.

17. Click the first option again, and a new pop-up window will appear, allowing for the license to be removed. Click "Yes" to confirm the removal of the license.

18. A success message will be displayed once the license removal process is complete.
