Step by Step Instructions
Today we will be learning how to set up and use Video Content Analytics (VCA) on select Luminys IP cameras. To get started we will want to log into the cameras WebUI, once logged in, we will want to click on “Smart Analysis” at the top.
Once in Smart Analysis, on the left you will expand the “Video Intelligence C” and select “Intelligent Mode”. Once in Intelligent mode you will see the different AI options available that you can enable. It is important to note that you can only typically enable one of the functions in here at a time. For this document we will be using the “VCA” option, go ahead and toggle it on then click “next”.
After clicking on next you will be brought to the VCA config page to set up your rule. To start building the rule, click the (+) symbol to the right, you will then see your different options for VCA. For this document we will be choosing the “Intrusion” option.
After choosing the intrusion option, you will now see all of the additional options that you have for this. The first thing you want to do is enable the rule via the toggle and then you want to start to draw your rule, to do this you can start by left clicking in the preview window where you want to start your intrusion rule (in some cases you may need to click the “draw rule” button in the bottom left of the preview window). Once you click once in the preview window, you will notice that you have a yellow line, what you need to do is left click for each point that you want to add, once you have gotten to the last point of the intrusion rule, you want to right click in the preview window and this will complete the intrusion rule which means it will close the shape you have drawn.
Next we will go through what all of the options mean on this page.
1. “Draw Rule” - This enables the draw function within the preview window. By default this is already selected, but there may be times where you need to click it to start being able to draw. 2. “Delete Rule” - This is the trashcan icon. If you don’t like the shape you drew or you just want to adjust the rule, you can click the trashcan to remove the rule so you can redraw it. 3. (Min Target Size) and (Max Target Size) – These buttons allow you to draw in the preview window the minimum target size as well as the maximum target size. By default the minimum is 0 and the maximum size if the full screen. Setting these options allows you to negate targets that are either under the minimum target size or larger than the maximum target size.
Sensitivity – This allows you to adjust how sensitive the rule is to targets entering or exiting the box.
Action – This setting allows you to set rules for the intrusion box. You can use “Appear” which is good if the box is surrounding something like a door where a person won’t cross into the box and instead appears inside the box by coming through a door. You then have “Cross” which is when a target enters the box by crossing the border, or exits the box. “Inside” cannot be used with the other 2 options, but this option can be used to trigger the rule when someone remains inside the box.
Direction – This setting determines which direction will trigger the rule, you can choose Enter, Exit or Both directions.
Target Screening – This setting allows you to choose which filter you want to use for your rule. You can have it trigger on human, Motor Vehicle or both. You must have 1 option selected.
Schedule – This setting allows you to set a schedule for when the rule will be active.
Alarm Output – This allows you to turn on the Alarm Output function, so when the rule triggers, it can also trigger the alarm output if you have some sort of siren connected as an example.
Alarm Reset – This setting is how long the rule will trigger after the initial trigger occurred.
Video Recording – This allows you to enable the camera to record to an installed SD Card if you have on in the camera. (This setting is not needed when recording from an NVR as there will be a setting in the NVR to record the camera.)
Recording Delay – This setting determines how long the camera will record after the event has occurred.
Audio Linkage – If the camera has the built in speaker and also has built in ability to play a sound, then you can use this setting to have it play a sound when the event occurs.
Play Count – This is how many times the audio file will play when the event triggers.
Audio File – This is the audio file that will play when the event occurs.
Send Email – If you have the email function set up, when the event occurs and email will be sent to the recipients that are set up. (Email function is set up elsewhere.)
Snapshot – If this setting is enabled, when the event occurs it will generate a snapshot.
After choosing your settings, make sure you click apply to save. Next we will move to the live view to see this in action. When a “target” in this case a human walks into the intrusion box, it will trigger and then actions that you have set up will occur.
