Setting Up Auto-Registration with LumiCenter

Description

This tutorial will go over on how to set up Auto-Registration (ARS) for use with LumiCenter.

Prerequisites

  • LumiCenter server and client installed on a computer
  • Network admin access to set up port forwarding

Step by Step Instructions

1. Before ARS will work, the LumiCenter Server needs to be connected to the internet, and we must forward port 60001 for ARS.

2. In addition to this, the NVR or camera you are using must also have internet access.

3. In the WebUI for device you wish to add to LumiCenter, navigate to the Auto Registration menu. For NVR devices this is found under System > Network > Advanced, and then select Auto Registration at the top. For cameras, this is under Settings > Network > Auto Registration.

4. In here, enable ARS, and ensure the correct port (60001) is configured. You must also provide the server address (the public address for the LumiCenter Server) and provide a Sub Device ID. If you intend to set up ARS on multiple devices, every device must have a unique Sub Device ID.

5. Once the device has been properly configured, you can now add it to LumiCenter. Navigate to Config > Devices, and select Add Device... From here click Search and your ARS devices should populate with their unique Sub Device ID and their WAN address. From here, you add like any other device with the appropriate Vendor, Username, Password, Storage (if using), and ID information, before clicking + to add.
