Step by Step Instructions
Today we will be learning how to setup and use the LumiDeterrent function that can be found on select models of our IP Cameras. One of the functions of LumiDeterrent is the LumiLuxSmart which was discussed in another document. To find out how to use and set that function up, follow the link ( link here ). Now we will discuss how to set up the deterrent part of LumiDeterrent. The first thing we will want to do is log into the WebUI of the camera, once logged in we will want to do to “Settings” at the top.
For this example we will be using the IMD function of the camera. Once in settings, you will want to expand the “Event” section on the left, and from there you will want to click on general settings. When that section loads you will want to make sure you are selected on the “Motion Detection” tab.
Once in the motion detection settings, you will want to make sure you enable the motion detection first, then we will also enable the IMD setting so we are watching for the targets, in this case human and motor vehicle, you can also only select one if you prefer instead of both. One those are enabled the 2 key functions of LumiDeterrent are down below which are “Audio Linkage” as well as “Warning Light”. We will start with Audio Linkage, when this enabled and one of the target types are detected, this will play audio through the cameras speaker. The 2 settings below directly impact the audio linkage setting, first will be play count which is how many times the audio file will play when triggered and then you have audio file which is the sound file that will play when triggered. Next we will discuss the warning light function, when this is enabled, when the IMD is triggered it will cause the camera to flash a red and blue light. The mode setting below determines what the lights will do, in this case we will leave it at “flicker”. We then have flicker frequency which can be set high, medium and low depending on how fast you want it to flicker, you have duration period which is how long it will flicker for, and then lastly “Time” you can set a schedule for when you want the deterrent features to be active. Once you have made your setting changes, click apply at the bottom to save.
Next we will go back to live view to see it in action. Now when the camera detects a human in the frame, it will enable the white light from the LumiLuxSmart function, and then it will also activate the red and blue lights along with the siren. This concludes how to set up and use the LumiDeterrent functions.
