LumiCloud/Allocate Licenses to a User via LumiPartner Mobile App
Allocate Licenses Using LumiPartner Mobile App
Description
This tutorial will go over how to allocate licenses to end user devices or to end user accounts using the LumiPartner mobile app.
Prerequisites
- LumiPartner Account
- LumiPartner Mobile App
- Purchased License(s)
Assign To a Users Device
1. The first step will be to open up the LumiPartner app and log in. Once logged in, the first place you want to go to is LicenseMgmt along the bottom.
2. Once in the license management page, you will want to scroll through to find the license you want to add. You will notice each license has 2 options. Allocate to Device as well as Allocate to the user. We will go through both options in this document. Allocate to Device allows you to do all of the work for the customer, which means when you use this option, you will need to choose the customer first, then the device you want to add the license to. If you choose the Allocate to User option, then for this we will only choose which customer to add it to, but then the customer will need to log into their account to apply the license to whatever device they want to. Let’s start by choosing “Allocate to Device”.
3. On the next screen, you will be brought to a drop down to choose the customer. Click the drop down and it will bring up a list of the customers at the bottom, choose the customer and click Apply.
4. After clicking Apply, it will put the customer you want to use into the top drop down and now you can click Next.
5. After clicking the next option, it will bring you to the Allocate to Device page. In this case we only have the one device listed, but if you had multiple devices, make sure to locate the correct device, put a dot in the radial for the correct device and then click Next.
6. After clicking next, it will now have you select the channel you want to apply it to, the license we are working with for this document is a single channel license, if you have only 1 license, you can only select one channel, if you have multiple single channel licenses you can choose multiple channels. For this we are choosing channel 3, then we will click on Allocate.
7. After clicking Allocate, you should be brought to the screen that confirms that it was allocated successfully. Press OK to finish. This concludes how to add directly to a device, next we will show how to add to a customers account and then how they would apply the license.
Assign To a User
1. Open up the LumiPartner app and log in. Once logged in, select the LicenseMgmt tab at the bottom. Locate the license you wish to assign, and select Allocate to User.
2. This will then bring you to the page to choose the user account you would like to allocate to. Click the drop down which will bring up the list of customers at the bottom. Choose the customer from the list then click Search.
3. Now you will have the option to specify how many licenses you want to apply to the user account if you have multiple licenses. After you select the amount you want to provide click on allocate at the bottom.
4. Like before you will be presented with a screen to confirm that the license was successfully allocated.
5. Now that the license has been provided to your customer, in order for them to apply it themselves they will need to log into the LumiCloud web portal, the option to allocate the license does not exist in the LumiCloud app. Once in the LumiCloud webpage, you will want to navigate to the correct device page, so if this is an NVR, go to the video section. Once on the video section, go to Devices along the left. You should now see the NVRs that you have added to LumiCloud. There will be a license button to the right of the device name, click on that to bring up the licensing page. If you already have a license it will show it there, however if you have no license yet, you will want to click on “Add License”. From here you can select the license that is appropriate for your device and then you can click save. If this is a single channel license, you will have to choose the channel you want to apply it to then click save. You should now see the license showing up on the prior page.
