Setting Up Auxiliary Displays

Description

This tutorial will go over how to connect and change the View for a secondary (Auxiliary) display on your NVR. Note that not all NVRs with multiple video output ports support independent display management. For example, the R3 series NVRs only support display mirroring.

For information on setting up Auto-Switching (Tours) see here.

Prerequisites

  • Luminys NVR with multiple monitor output
  • Multiple displays connected to the NVR

Step by Step Instructions

1. Once your displays are physically connected, begin by configuring the output, resolution, and decode settings. To do this, navigate to System > Display and enable the Auxiliary Display. Select your desired resolution and the specific output port you wish to use.

Please note: On the R6 series, HDMI1 is shared with VGA1, and HDMI2 is shared with VGA2. On the R5 series, changing the Auxiliary Display output will also change the Home Display output, as mirroring is not supported.

2. Now that your Auxiliary Display is set up, you can change the live layout by clicking the Auxiliary Display button in the bottom-right corner of your Home Display. This will move your mouse pointer to the Auxiliary Display, allowing its view to be adjusted.

3. Once the button is pressed, you will need to confirm the change via a pop-up on the Auxiliary Display. This prevents the mouse input from being switched to a disconnected monitor; if the change is not acknowledged, the system will automatically revert the input to the Home Display.

4. Now that you have control of the Auxiliary Display, simply right-click the same as you would on the Home Display to change the Live View layout to your desired configuration.

5. To return the mouse input to the Home Display, right click and select Home Screen. As before, you need to acknowledge this change with a pop-up to prevent accidental changes.
