LumiCloud For Access Control/Basic AC Setup for LumiCloud via Web
Basic Access Controller Setup for LumiCloud via Website
Description
This tutorial will go over on how to set up a Luminys Access Controller via LumiCloud website. It will cover creating users, groups, and schedules, the three core components of access control function. The guide will cover as if the unit is newly added to LumiCloud and has not been modified otherwise.
Prerequisites
- Luminys Access Controller (P2P Online) added to LumiCloud account
Step by Step Instructions
1. Start by logging in to your LumiCloud account at https://webapp.lumicloud.com and select Access from the Device Type menu.
2. Select the User and Groups option on the left, and you will see any existing users. Note that LumiCloud will automatically create an AC User for your LumiCloud users and list them here. For this example, we will create a new user with the Add User button.
3. In the window that opens, fill out the required information, and click Next.
4. To register a card to the user, click the button beside Card, and select the reader type you wish to use to register with. Door Scan Card will use a reader attached to the controller to register the card, and Card Reader Encode will use a USB card Issuer if you have one connected to your computer.
5. Select the door reader you wish to use to register the card and click Scan Card. (Note that you can also change between Door and Issuer here if you chose the wrong option in the last step).
6. This will start a one minute timer. Any card scanned on the selected reader will register to the user. You will see the card details populate when scanned. If the timer runs out, you have the option to retry and restart the timer.
7. Click Save once your card details have been populated.
8. Now that the card has been registered, you can also enter a password (pin) if needed, and click Next.
9. At this point, we need to register the User to a Group. Groups are sets of people that share permissions. Click the Create Group button to create a new Group.
10. Provide a name for the Group, and select any other existing users you wish to include in the Group. Note that you cannot select the user you are currently creating, as you will be asked to add it to a group in the next step.
11. You will now see the newly created Group, which you can select to add the user to and click Finish.
12. We have now successfully created a user, added a card and pin, as well as created and registered the user to a group. You will see the user in the list with options to modify the card, pin, or edit the user information.
13. The last requirement for basic access requires us to provide door access to the group. Click Groups at the top and click anywhere on the row for the group we created previously. You can also create new Groups here if needed.
14. In the Group you will see a list of users registered to it, and an option to enable First Card Unlock for a user if desired.
15. Select Access at the top, and click Add to Access Rules so we can define which doors the group has access to, and at which times.
16. Click Add To Access Rules again.
17. Provide a name for the Access Rule, and select which Door(s) the Group will have access to on the left. Then, click anywhere in the time schedule to open the schedule window, where we can select the days of the week and time range the Access Rule applies to. Click Add once you have set your days/time.
18. You will now see when the Access Rule applies. Click Save when finished.
19. Now, when a card is scanned, you will see Access Granted in the Events list, as we have provided all necessary requirements for the user to gain entry to that door.
20. If you wish to create an Always Open or Always Closed schedule for a door, you can do so by clicking Schedules on the left, followed by Door Schedules at the top, and then Add Schedule.
21. Similar to our Access Rule in the previous steps, we can schedule which doors, days, and time frame we want to apply the schedule for, and Save.
22. Lastly, if you wish to modify or create additional Access Rules, we can do so under Group Schedules within the Schedules menu.
