SD Card and Recording Setup for a Direct to Cloud Camera via LumiCloud Web

Description

This tutorial will go over how to setup an SD Card and configure recording on a Direct to Cloud Camera in LumiCloud.

Prerequisites

  • LumiCloud account logged in to https://webapp.lumicloud.com
  • Direct to Cloud Camera with active license
  • Micro SD Card physically installed in the camera

Instructions

1. Log into the LumiCloud User Portal.
Click on the Device Type Selection at the top left, and select Video

2. Click on Devices on the left.
Then click on Settings next to the Direct to Cloud camera in the list

3. Select Micro SD on the left.
Near the top of the page you have 3 options you can use if you need to:

  • Refresh: Refresh the page to see the most current information about the SD Card installed in the camera.
  • Disk Unload: Click this before physically taking the SD Card out of the camera without turning off the camera (if this button isn't pressed and you take the SD Card out while the camera is still running, you can possibly corrupt the recorded footage).
  • Format: Click this if you want to format the SD Card installed in the camera. It will completely wipe all recordings and data on the SD Card, and prepare it to be used for new recordings. (This can take up to 20 minutes to complete the formatting process.)

In the SD Card Status section you can check the health status of the SD Card next to Card Status, and the amount of space Used and Available on the SD Card.
If the 24/7 Cloud Recording License has been purchased and applied to this camera and has been turned on, Recording Schedule will be locked with the All Day setting applied. (To adjust this, see the new few steps.)
If you made any changes, make sure to click on Save at the top when you are done

4. Select 24/7 Record on the left.
If the 24/7 Cloud Recording License has been purchased and applied to this camera, you will have the option to enable or disable the 24/7 recording to the cloud on this page, by enabling or disabling the slider next to 24/7 Record in the middle of the page.
If you disable it, you will have the option to adjust when recording to the SD Card happens in the next step. Otherwise leave it enabled at all times

5. OPTIONAL (Can only be performed if 24/7 Record was disabled in previous step):
Select Micro SD on the left.
Click the drop-down next to Recording Schedule to choose what is recorded on the SD Card:

  • All Day: It will record 24/7 general and event footage to the SD Card.
  • Event Only: It will only record IMD and/or VCA events (if configured) to the SD Card.
  • Custom: Create a custom schedule for when general recording is saved to the SD Card. Highlight the days and times you want general recording in the weekly calendar below.

Click Save at the top when you are done making changes.
