Prerequisites

  • N5P-8DA2 Camera
  • NVR with local monitor (This function does not appear in the WebUI)
  • VCA Rule – Intrusion/Line Crossing

Video Instructions

Coming soon.

Step by Step Instructions

1. Today we will be going over how to use the LumiTracking-E function that some models of cameras have. The first step to getting this function to work will be to set up some form of VCA rule for the LumiTracking-E to trigger on. Start by logging into the NVR local monitor, once logged in, we will navigate to the camera section. One in the camera section, expand the AI Event, then choose Intelligent mode. Once in intelligent mode, click the drop down to choose the camera you want to set up a VCA rule on and put a check in the VCA box. Once done click apply to save.

2. Next we will want to set up the actual rule. To do this since we are already in the AI Event menu, we will go ahead and click on the VCA option on the left. Choose the channel that you want to add the rule to at the top. Once you have your channel selected, click the add button in the top right to add a new rule. You can use either Intrusion or Line Crossing. Draw your rule in the preview window and once you are satisfied with the rule go ahead and click apply to save.

3. Now that we have our VCA rule set up, we can move on to setting up the LumiTracking-E. From the same AI Event menu, this time we will click on Lumitracking on the left. Once in the Lumitracking section, from the top right, choose your channel from the drop down that you want to set it up on. Then once you have the correct channel selected, you can choose the display mode that it will display as in LiveView when you have LumiTracking enabled, and then make sure Linkage Track is turned on. Once you have set that up, go ahead and click apply to save.

4. Next let’s go over to live view and test it out. Bring up the single channel on the live view so it is easier to see. At first the camera live view will look normal, but if you move your mouse to the bottom of the camera view window, you will see some icons, the 4th icon from the left is to enable LumiTracking which I have highlighted in the image. Once you turn this on, the camera view will change to the view you selected in the LumiTracking settings.

5. Now when you trigger the VCA rule, the smaller camera view box below the main view will start to follow the target around and it will also zoom in if the target moves farther away. This concludes how to set up the LumiTracking-E function.
