Installing LumiViewer on MacOS

Description

This tutorial will go over how to add devices to LumiViewer PC app.

Prerequisites

  • M-Series Mac

Step by Step Instructions

1. Start by browsing to https://wiki.luminyscorp.com and scrolling to the bottom of the page. Locate the LumiViewer for Mac listing and click the download button to the right.

2. Once downloaded, you will need to extract the .tar file by simply double clicking on the file from the downloads folder or the download listing in the top right of the browser.

3. After the .tar file is extracted you will have a .dmg file in your download folder, as well as mounted to the desktop. Double click either of these to open the installer.

4. To install the software simply drag and drop the LumiViewer icon from the left side into the Applications folder on the right.

5. You will now have a LumiViewer listing in your applications folder, which can be used to launch the software. It is important to note that after installing, the mounted .dmg file will remain on the desktop and can be mistaken for the actual application. To eliminate confusion, drag and drop the desktop icon to the trash to unmount it.
