First Card Unlock for Access Controllers via LumiViewer

Description

This tutorial will cover how to set up the First Card Unlock function via LumiViewer. First Card Unlock tells the controller to change the status of a door when a specified user unlocks it, during the defined time frame. It will stay in that status until the end of the scheduled period and return to it's normal status.

Note: This guide assumes that basic functionality has already been set up for your controller using LumiViewer.

Prerequisites

Step by Step Instructions

1. In LumiViewer, start by selecting Access Control.

2. Select Advanced Config on the left, and then First Card Unlock. Click Add to create a new rule.

3. Select the door you want the rule to apply to, as well as the Time Zone (schedule) you want the rule to follow, and the status you need to door to change to. Check the box for the desired personnel that can activate the First Card Unlock, and click Save.

4. You will now see the newly created rule. You can enable and disable the rule using the toggle, but it will be enabled by default after creating.

5. To illustrate, we can look at the Access Monitoring window to see the door currently has a locked status (Normal).

6. We configured the rule to be 07:30-13:15 for this example. As you can see, we unlocked the door at 13:14:07 and it stayed unlock, instead of locking after the normal 3 second period. At 13:15 the door then returned to a locked (Normal) status on its own as the scheduled First Card Unlock period has ended.
