Access Control/Inter-Door Lock - WebUI
Setting Up Inter-Door Lock for Stand Alone Access Controller
Description
This tutorial will cover how to set up Inter-Door Lock for stand alone access controllers. Inter-Door Lock tells the controller that a specific door (or set of doors) must be locked in order for another door to unlock.
Prerequisites
- Luminys Access Controller (with at least basic setup completed)
- WebUI Access
Step by Step Instructions
1. Start by logging in to your controllers webUI, and select Access Rules > Interlock on the left. Here you will see two options at the top: Interlock within Group, and Interlock between Groups. You do not need to use both, as they have different logic which we will explain in each example below.
We will cover Interlock Within Group first. Click Add to create an Interlock rule.
2. In the menu that opens, provide a name and execution strength for your rule. Strong Execution allows the controller to execute the rule even while offline, Weak Execution will disable the rule while offline. Once that is set, click add to select the doors for the rule.
3. In the pop up window, select all doors that will apply to the rule. Since we have chosen the "within" group option, this example shows that Door 1 and Door 2 must be locked for either door to open. If we had more doors, all doors within the group must be locked to open any other door. Once you have selected the doors for the rule, click OK.
4. We can now see our doors in the rule, and can click Apply to finish creating the rule.
5. We now see our rule with its name, execution strength, and our options to edit or delete the rule.
6. If you wish to use Interlock between groups, select the appropriate tab at the top and click Add.
7. Similar to the "within" rule, we need to provide a name and execution strength. When setting up interlock between groups, the main difference is that we compare two groups together instead of all doors within one group. This means any doors in group 1 must be locked for any door in group 2 to open, and vice versa, but we do not validate based on the lock status of doors within the same group. Click Add to add a door to each group.
8. Now that we have added our doors, click Apply to finish creating the rule.
9. We now see our rule added with our name, execution strength, and options to edit or delete the rule.
10. Now that we have created an Interlock rule, we can see in the Access Monitoring that if we try to unlock Door 2 while Door 1 is still Unlocked, the Interlock rule is triggered and prevents the door from opening. Once Door 1 is locked, we can then unlock Door 2 successfully.
