Facial Recognition Terminal/Door wiring
C-F4A Door Wiring Including Exit and Contact Sensor
Description
This tutorial will go over how to wire your door as well as exit and contact sensor on the C-F4A Facial Recognition Terminal.
Prerequisites
- C-F4A Controller
- Exit Button if using one
- Door Contact Sensor if using one
Step by Step Instructions
1. Once you have the pigtails attached to the controller you can check the labels on the pigtails to determine what each wire is used for. CON2 is the important diagram and as you can see per the picture, the important wires are White and Purple for DOOR_NC, White and Yellow for DOOR_NO and then White and Brown for DOOR_COM. For the door exit we want to find White and Green for DOOR_EXIT and then Black for GND. For the Door contact sensor we will be looking for White and Gray for DOOR_SR and Black for GND.
2. If you are using a Maglock or electronic door strike set to NC, you will want to use your DOOR_NC and DOOR_COM wires. You will also need to provide power in the loop to power the maglock and to be able to add and remove power via the controller when door is unlocked. I have included 2 pictures below to help understand the wiring.
3. If you are using an electronic door strike that is set for NO, then you would use the DOOR_NO and DOOR_COM wires. You will also need to provide power in the loop to power the strike and to be able to add and remove power via the controller when door is unlocked. I have included 2 pictures below to help understand the wiring.
4. Next we will show the wiring for the Door Exit (REX) which is very simple to wire. In this case we are still using the same pigtail as the NC and NO doors, but this time we are looking for White Green (DOOR_EXIT) and the Black wire (GND). Once located, you would run wires off of the white/green and black wires to a push button or something similar. There is no power required as this is a simple relay close.
5. The last wiring we will go over in reference to the doors would be the Door Sensor/Door Detector. This is another straight forward wiring since again there is no power needed since it is just determining whether the relay is open or whether it is closed. The wires we are looking for are White Grey (DOOR_DR) and Black (GND). Wire these up to your door contact/sensor. Important note, for this to serve a purpose, you would need to log into the controller and enable the door sensor function.
