How to Backup Footage Via Playback for Account Devices in LumiViewer Mobile

Description

This tutorial will go over how to backup video footage via playback for Account devices in the LumiViewer mobile app.

Prerequisites

  • LumiViewer Mobile App
  • NVR added as an Account device

Step by Step Instructions

1. On the Home tab, select the device you wish to create a recording with. The device must be an Account device for this process. For Local devices, or for more granular control of the start and end times, see here.

2. Once you have selected the desired channel, you must move the playback timeline to enter playback mode. Note that you can also use the filter button to filter playback to a specific date, or to view only event recordings.

3. Once you are in Playback mode, tap the Download button to view recordings. Note that unlike iOS (dark theme screenshot), you must first tap the Menu button to access the Download option on Android (light theme screenshots).

4. Once you have selected the Download button you will see your devices recordings. If you did not filter to Events, you will see all of your recordings in 1 hour segments (left screenshot), unless they have been broken up by event recordings. If you have filtered to events only, you will only see the event clips (right screenshot).

5. To download a clip, tap the recording. Once it has started, you will see a marker on the Download List.

6. Tapping the Download List will show you the progress of your downloads and provides the option to pause them, if needed. You can also swipe them toward the left of the screen to cancel and delete them.

7. Once the download has finished, the list will clear. If you did not go to the Download List, the Download counter also clears. When using this method, the recordings are automatically saved locally to your phone, as well as the Media Album. They will not require exporting from the app like other methods.

8. To view your recordings in the LumiViewer app, press back in the top left, navigate to the Me tab at the bottom right, and select the Media Album shortcut.

9. From here, you can tap the recording to play it, or tap the menu button in the top right for more options.

10. When tapping the menu button, select at least one file, and you will have the option to share it through another application, save the recording locally, or delete the clip. Note that deleting the clip from LumiViewer's Media Album does not delete it from you local device (Photos or Gallery) storage.
