How to Backup Video Recordings from Playback via WebUI

Description

This tutorial will go over how to backup video recordings from the Playback menu via the recorders webGUI.

Prerequisites

  • Web browser on computer

Step by Step Instructions

1. Start by logging in to the recorders WebUI from any browser, and select the Playback menu at the top. Select the camera you wish to back up, and click the Scissors (Video Clipping) button in the bottom right. Note that you can only backup one video channel at a time via playback.

2 a. Once you click the button, there will be a small white triangle on each end of your cameras time bar. Click and drag these to the start and end time stamps for the video you wish to save.

2 b. Alternatively, you can click the start and end times in the Video Clipping menu to manually enter the times. Be sure to click OK after setting the time to lock them in.

3. Click the Save button once the times are set.

4. A pop-up will open with our file type and location settings. The default location is in the C:\BrowserDownload\Record folder. To change the location, click the Browse button to change where you want to save the file to.

5. A window will open which you can use to select the desired save location. After you have selected the directory you wish to save the file in, click OK.

6. After setting the location, you may wish to change the file type. LAV is a proprietary, raw, file format. It requires the LumiPlayer software to be opened. Alternatively you can use MP4 for a more universally compatible file type, playable via most video players. Click OK when finished to save your video.

7. You will see a progress bar showing the download progress. Once finished, a notification will appear at the top of the page indicating it's done downloading.

8. Open the location you saved the video to see your file. Regardless of chosing MP4 or LAV, a copy of the LumiPlayer software will be included with your download for convinience. The videos will be named based on the recorder name, channel name, stream type, and start/end times.
