How To Set Up And Use Face Detection

Today we will look at the steps involved in setting up and using Face Detection.

Prerequisites

  • Luminys IPC with Face Detect built in, or Luminys NVR that has Face Detect AI built in

Steps

1. Today we will learn how to use Face Detect on a Luminus NVR and Luminys IPC. To start the first thing you want to do is load up the NVR interface via the WebUI by accessing its IP address from a computer. Once logged in, you will click on the cameras option along the top.

2. Once in the camera section, you will want to expand the AI event section and then under AI Event choose the Face Detection option. Now you will see additional options on the right. You will want to click on the channel drop down to choose the channel you want to do face detection on. For this document we will be using a camera that already has face detection as part of its capabilities, so in this case for “Type” we will be using “Smart Camera Function” which means the camera is doing the analytics. After choosing that go ahead and enable face detection and click apply at the bottom to save.

3. The next step is to activate intelligent mode so the face detection option functions. To do this, under the AI Event section click on Intelligent mode, then on the right, make sure you are on the “Camera AI mode” tab. From here choose your channel from the drop down, then below you will see the options that the camera has for AI, for this we will want to put a check in the box for Face Detection and then click apply at the bottom to save.

4. Now all of the necessary settings are set up, so let’s move over to the Live view so we can test it out. Once on live view so you can instantly see the results, click on the target option in the top left which will display AI results real time. Then you can step in front of the camera to see the results.

5. Next we can see how to search for historical results. To do this click on the search option along the top. Once there, on the left side expand the Smart Search option and then underneath select the Face Search option. Now on the right side make sure you are on the Face Detection option, then choose your channel that you want to search on, and then you can set whatever filter options you want. Go ahead and click on search to start the search.

6. You will then see the search results. This concludes how to setup and use Face Detection.
