NVR Audio Output via Alarm Input

Description

This article will cover how to play audio files out of the audio output on a Luminys NVR when the alarm input is triggered

Prerequisites

  • Luminys NVR
  • A Computer on the Same Network as the NVR
  • A Speaker Wired to the Audio Output on the NVR
  • A Device that Can Open or Close a Circuit Wired to One of the Alarm Inputs on the NVR

Step by Step Instructions

1. Log into the web inteface of the NVR.
Click on System at the top.
Expand Audio on the left.
Click on Audio File

2. Click on the drop-down menu next to Device and select Local.
Click on Select Audio File.
Navigate to and select an audio file, that you want the NVR to play, on your computer's file system. Make sure it's an MP3 file that is between 2KB and 10MB.
Click on Apply at the bottom

3. You will see a progress bar as the file is uploaded.
Once it has been successfully uploaded to the the NVR, it will say "Operation Succeeded" at the top.
Repeat this process for up to 20 audio files

4. Expand Alarm on the left.
Click on Alarm Settings.
Select the Local Alarm tab at the top

5. Click on the drop-down next to Alarm Input and select the physical alarm input that the device that will be triggering this event will be hooked up to.
Enter a name for this alarm in the Alarm Name field.
Enable the slider next to Enable.
Click on the drop-down next to Device Category and select either Always Open if the device you are using to trigger the event is a Normally Open device, or select Always Closed if the device is a Normally Closed device.
Check the box next to Local Audio and click the drop-down to select the audio file you want to play when the alarm input is triggered.
Optionally you can enable/edit any of the other settings on this page for what happens when the alarm input it triggered.
Click on Apply at the bottom

6. Your changes will be saved and it will say Operation Succeeded at the top
