===LumiSearch with Maps===

Using the recorders Map feature, we can utilize LumiSearch to map a targets “path” throughout your CCTV system. To use this function you will need to create a map by uploading an image of your geographical area, such as a screenshot from Google Maps, or building schematic.

1. To start, open the recorders WebUI and go to the System > Map menu, and select the “Select from Local” button. This will open a file browser to select your saved image and upload it to the recorder. Of note, you can only have one image per recorder so make sure it covers the entire area.

[[File:LumiSearch Map1.png|1000px]]

2. Once your image is uploaded, you can click and drag each camera to position it on the map. If you place a camera in the wrong position, you can click and drag it on the map to reposition it. You can also clear the cameras by clicking the Clear button at the bottom. Once all of your cameras are in place, click Apply.

[[File:LumiSearch Map2.png|1000px]]

3. Now that your cameras are mapped, return to the Live View tab. Now, when we use the Search By Target function of LumiSearch the results will have a Target Trajectory option at the top which will show our targets movement on the map and event clips. We can select which clips we want to view, and click Play Tracks to play them in order, which will also provide a “Play by Play” on the map.

Note that the S icon indicates the starting point of the mapped target based on search criteria, not the actual starting point of the target entering the map. To change it, return to the Video Clips tab at the top and adjust the time frame before returning to the Target Trajectory.

4. While the events are playing back, you will notice an E icon, green and blue flags, as well as lines that turn from green to pink:

The E icon indicates the end point of the target trajectory.

Green flags indicate a camera the target has passed through.

Blue flags on the map indicate the current camera playing back the target event.

Green lines indicate the path the target has traveled between cameras throughout the entire defined time frame.

Pink lines indicate the targets current movement between cameras in sync with the event playback.

5. As with the other LumiSearch methods, you also have the option to play individual events, Favorite, or Hide using the icons to the right of each clip in the list of events. You can also select event clips and save them by clicking the Backup button.

Viewing and Backing Up Results

1. To view a LumiSearch result, simply double click on it to open a playback window for the event. Below the video you have options to pause, stop, hide/show AI rule, and another LumiSearch button.

2. Additionally, you may want to save (backup) an event. To do this, simply select the event(s) you wish to save by checking the events selection box in the bottom right corner of the result, and select the Backup button at the top.

3. When the file backup window appears you will have a few options to choose from. Since we are in the WebGUI, the storage path will be for the device we accessing the WebGUI from. The file path will be the directory where you want to save the file. File format has 2 options:

  • LAV is the RAW unedited footage which includes the AI rule as well as any metadata. If you choose this option it will also download LumiPlayer to play the footage.
  • MP4 is a more common format that can be played in most media players.

The video checkbox is to indicate you want to download the video, the pictures checkbox is to indicate if you want to download the image snapshot and lastly video merge is designed to merge all video clips into a single clip if you are downloading multiple. To complete saving the clip, click the backup button in the bottom left. When finished, click the X in the top right of the File Backup window.

Add and View Favorites

While viewing results, you can chose to save them to your favorites. To do so, click the Star icon in the top left of the individual result you wish to mark. To view Favorites, click the Favorites button in the top right of the search.

Hide and Unhide Results

Another option available is to hide results. To do so, click the Hide (eyeball) icon in the top left corner of individual results. To filter the search and show hidden events, select the Target Filter drop down and select Hidden Items. While viewing hidden results, you can click the Hide button again to unhide the result.

Secondary LumiSearch Within Results

1. While viewing playback of a result, if you see another target you wish you search you can click the LumiSearch button at the bottom of the playback window to begin a new search for additional targets.

2. Doing so will open a full screen view of the playback with a still image of the targets on screen at the time the button was clicked. From there, you can click the Search button in the bottom right of the target frame to open a new LumiSearch result for the new target.

Searching By Area

1. To search by area, start by clicking the LumiSearch button at the bottom of the Live View. Unlike searching by target, you do not need a target in frame to use the Search By Area feature.

2. After clicking the button you will be taken to a full screen still image of the video feed. From here, you can left click to start drawing an area. Continue to left click to draw the desired area, and right click when you are finished to finalize the shape. After that, you will be prompted to search by area or search by target. For this method, select Search By Area.

3. The Search by Area function will default to searching the defined area for any targets within one hour before and after the time of the video and present them to you. You can modify the date and timeframe for the area with the search settings on the left, but you cannot modify the channel, since the search is specific to the defined area.

The same options are available when searching by area as when searching by target, such as Favorites, Target Filters, sort options, Backup, etc.

LumiSearch with Maps

Using the recorders Map feature, we can utilize LumiSearch to map a targets “path” throughout your CCTV system. To use this function you will need to create a map by uploading an image of your geographical area, such as a screenshot from Google Maps, or building schematic.

1. To start, open the recorders WebUI and go to the System > Map menu, and select the “Select from Local” button. This will open a file browser to select your saved image and upload it to the recorder. Of note, you can only have one image per recorder so make sure it covers the entire area.

2. Once your image is uploaded, you can click and drag each camera to position it on the map. If you place a camera in the wrong position, you can click and drag it on the map to reposition it. You can also clear the cameras by clicking the Clear button at the bottom. Once all of your cameras are in place, click Apply.
